Tip of the day:
The good, the fat & the ugly

Your body needs fat for energy, essential fatty acids, the taste in foods, to obtain fat-soluble vitamins and for insulation. However, there are different types of fats, and the important thing for your health is which types you eat more of. Saturated, trans and hydrogenated fats are the 'bad fats', whilst unsaturated fats are much better for you and are known as 'good fats'. These 'good fats' can help lower your cholesterol, but make sure you eat them in moderation and cut down on the 'bad fats'. Do this by avoiding pre-prepared snacks, fast and fried foods. Try cutting the fat off meats, and go for low-fat options and more fruit and veg!
